Soybean meal functional compounds: impact on pig health and physiology

Dr. Amy Petry, speaker at the 2025 American Association of Swine Practitioners annual meeting, spoke about how functional compounds in soybean meal activate a physiological response and are known to have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidative and immunomodulation properties. In turn, the functional compounds in soy may play a role in mitigating respiratory disease effects through immunomodulatory mechanisms.
